If you’re reading this, you’re probably one in a million! The majority of the policy is boilerplate/standard wording used on most sites. The data policies are customized specifically for Gothic Sci-Fi Books.
Gothic Sci-Fi Books is owned and operated by Pendletyn & Bromptyn, LLC. Pendletyn & Bromptyn is registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia by Erzsebet Carmean.
You are added to the Gothic Sci-Fi Books mailing list in one of three ways: 1) direct subscription from the https://gothicscifibooks.shop popups or form embeds; 2) direct subscription via the standalone signup hosted at https://subscribepage.io/gsfb; 3) by purchasing an item from Gothic Sci-Fi Books.
You can unsubscribe from the list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of emails from hello@gothicscifibooks.shop.
We adhere to anti-spam laws by providing unsubscribe functionality and giving the physical location of Pendletyn & Bromptyn, LLC, the business that owns Gothic Sci-Fi Books.
We don’t have comments enabled but…. if we did, then we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
The gothicscifibooks.shop site uses the CookieAdmin WordPress plugin to maintain compliance with GDPR laws.
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Gothic Sci-Fi Books does not sell user data to anyone. Only a subpoena from a legit legal entity will compel me to share your name, address and/or email. Please be good and save us both the hassle!
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
As of 1VIII25 (August 1st, 2025), Gothic Sci-Fi Books does not support creation of user accounts, comment functionality, or product reviews. This means the only data Gothic Sci-Fi Books has is what you submit to make a purchase, send an email via the contact form, or provide to subscribe to the GSFI mailing list. (FYI: You can go to https://subscriber.io/gsfb to join). You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of the emails.
In the event Gothic Sci-Fi Books ever does enable any of those extras (accounts, comments, reviews) you can request that Gothic Sci-Fi Books delete any personal data we hold about you from the public-facing website (comments, reviews). Behind the scenes (and multiple levels of security) Gothic Sci-Fi Books will retain data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. I estimate the amount of data required for us to retain is about zero percent of the total you submit.
